Thanks to Geoffrey over at InhouseBlog.com for (re)introducing me to Jott.com.

Jott, still in beta, is a nifty service which will convert your speech to text on the fly and send it to the party (or blog) of your choice via email or sms. Just call their toll-free number, say your contacts name, speak the message and hang up. And as Steve Jobs would say, “Boom!, it shows up in email and sms inboxes.”

My phone has a voice note feature- i’ve used it. However, I can’t seem to recall ever retrieving those voice notes. (Usually because I was too out of sorts to remember having left myself a note the night before.) With Jott your voice notes get automagically emailed to you.

With the voice-to-sms feature Jott is likely to be a lifesaver too by offering an alternative to texting and driving.

I’m liking this. (Carriers, maybe not so much.)
